The School Liaison Officer (SLO) acts as an advocate for/intermediary between military families and their school-age
children and youth. Some ways in which the School Liaison Officer may provide assistance:
- Addresses issues with registration and graduation requirements in the local schools (public and private).
- Coordinates school transition.
- Tutoring.
- Educates parents on local school districts.
- Supports home school families.
- Supplies resource materials on elementary, secondary and post-secondary education.
- Provides information about schools for families making a PCS move; refers families to SLO at gaining installation.
