The School Liaison Officer (SLO) acts as an advocate for/intermediary between military families and their school-age children and youth. Some ways in which the School Liaison Officer may provide assistance:

• Addresses issues with registration and graduation requirements in the local schools (public and private).
• Coordinates school transition.
• Tutoring.
• Educates parents on local school districts.
• Supports home school families.
• Supplies resource materials on elementary, secondary and post-secondary education.
• Provides information about schools for families making a PCS move; refers families to SLO at gaining installation.
