• CYS and Parents As Teachers/Heroes at Home Program is hosting an Ice Cream Social and Mr. Stinky Feet Concert on May 28 at Merritt Lake. The ice cream social begins at 6 p.m. with the concert following at 7 p.m. Rain location is Harney Sports Complex.

• 4-H Military Family Camp - Discover the magic of 4-H Military Family Camp "A Harry Potter Weekend" June 27-28 at Camp Clover Point in Lake of the Ozarks State Park. All campers must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. More information is available on the University of Missouri Extension website, http://4h.missouri.edu/programs/camp.

• The Child Development Center and Family Child Care is willing to help parents with child care for last minute urgent doctor appointments. Parents may call the CDC at 684-9351 or Central Enrollment at 684-5135 or 684-5137 for an FCC Provider. Parents must request urgent care for a same day doctor appointment. The program will make every attempt to place the child for the times requested. Children must be registered with CYS and regular fees apply.

• For weather-related up-to-date information on youth sports and SKIES class cancellations, call the Child and Youth Services Hotline at 684-5113. For general information on child and youth programs, call Central Registration at 684-5135.

• Heroes at Home/Parents as Teachers - Support program for families with expectant mothers through children age 2 1/2 years. Fort Leavenworth is a pilot location for this program that offers wonderful information on brain development and how to support your child's overall growth. • The Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills offers classes in cooking, music, instruments, math support, art and signing. For more information call 684-3207.

• Family child care providers are needed to provide on post care. Child care exceeding 10 hours weekly, requires training and certification from Child and Youth Services. Call 684-5129 for information.

  Expanded hours in support of Army Family Covenant:

• CDC and SAS are open Tuesday from 1830 to 2030. Reservations required. Call CDC at 684-9351 or SAS at 684-7519.

• CDC and SAS are open the first Saturday of each month from 0900-1300. Reservations are required.

• CDC hourly is open until 1800 on Monday and Wednesday.

• Daily care available at SAS on a space available basis. Call SAS for reservations, 684-7519. Pick-up at on-post schools provided.
